CRAMP Rapid Assessment. Other Relevant Factors

Depth

Depth is determined at each transect with an electronic depth sounder at the surface. To provide a range of depths along the entire transect a digital dive computer (Suunto) is used on the benthos.

Age of Islands

The geologic age of each site is estimated using the age of the source volcano in millions of years (Clague and Dalrymple, 1994). These data were determined using radiometric dating and paleontologic ages. Dated fossils and island age progression are consistent with this data.
